Valentinos Arsakuni

Valentinos Arsakuni
   Usurped the throne briefly in 645 before being lynched in a popular uprising in Constantinople (q.v.). He was a former commander of the theme of Opsikion (qq.v.) who became count of the exkoubitores (q.v.) and who engineered the downfall of Martina (q.v.). His death in 645 left Constans II (q.v.) in sole control.
